Actually, it is very possible that health is also involved considering Ning has been unwell for weeks now and literally yesterday said she hasn’t recovered.
But also, I understand why she’s not performing given situation concerning her and entire group safety.
I hope the 3 members will finish this performance peacefully so this could be put to rest finally after months.

So it looks like Ningning has been sick since the beginning of the month… I think this may just be coincidental. And honestly, it’s probably for the best that she sit this one out.

Japanese fans were bullying Ningning nonstop, but K-pop related subreddits, as always, have been tight-lipped about the issue. If Korean fans were like that, they would have attacked Knetz in all sorts of ways, saying that they were the worst and that Korea’s cancel culture was the problem.

It’s good that she is sitting this one out and sm can absolutely do nothing in this situation, it’s more than kpop. The tensions between japan and china have been at an all time high due to right wing japanese pm taikichi’s remarks about supporting taiwan in case china invades. A japanese singer performing in china was also removed from the stage.
