I’ll love jimin till the end of my days but I’ll never understand why people (particularly idols) post about their weight so often 😭

This makes me sad:( I wish he wouldn’t care about his weight so much.

This obsession with weight needs to stop everywhere. Especially ppl with platforms😮💨just show off your muscles instead Jimin😮💨we gonna love you no matter what weight you are.
This is the second time I’m seeing this from them….I mean they are already athletic and fit people so further weight control is an aesthetic or professional decision or idk maybe he posted it because he gained weight. This is a touchy topic for me so I’m gonna just move on 🚶♀️

as someone who battles an ED, these kinds of posts always make me sad and are extremely triggering. (but that’s nothing against jimin whatsoever, he’s a victim of the culture himself)
i really wish the kpop industry wasn’t so intent on pushing ED culture onto their idols (and by proxy, the fans), and i hope we live to see a day where that’s not the case.

love jimin so much but this kind of posting makes me sad. it’s very ballerina background of him 🙁

That’s 130 lb. The constant talk of weight and the adherence to very thin subjective beauty standards is disconcerting.
Why is he posting this oml, I can’t believe he’s so light

I fear he is slipping back into this BST era where he was quite unwell (he said so himself). I know Korea has a big weight culture that is insanely toxic. I hope he can learn to love himself in a not dangerous way.

I mean, I’m the same height (about an inch-ish shorter) and weight as him, so he’s still in the healthy range. On the smaller side, but still healthy. This isn’t some underweight picture that he’s posting, but I’m seeing people act like he’s posted something terribly unhealthy.
With that being said, weight discussions are normal in day-to-day Korean life. I know it’s really taboo in the west and it makes us cringe, but as someone who has taken formal Korean classes and has certificates in the language, a lot of the textbooks include entire sections about dieting and weight phrases so you can stay on top of it during conversations. So people keep blaming the K-pop/entertainment industry, but this extends far beyond that and is just a trait of modern day Korean culture.
Jimin has also gone on the record a few times these past couple of months encouraging people not to skip meals or diet unhealthily, but I suppose the picture of a scale still makes some people mildly perturbed.
But seeing comments of ppl acting like he’s on the verge of passing out when I have basically the same build as him is kind of weirding me out. Like… he’s fine.

Now we know why he could barely catch his breath while performing Saturday.

As a larger fan, BIG WOMAN, I have to admit I have no desire to visit South Korea due to the weight culture. I don’t want to meet BTS in person because I’m scared they will be disgusted by my weight. I support them and love them as artists and will go to their concerts. But meeting them is fear.

Yeah not a fan of this. I have never seen anyone who has a normal relationship with their body who feels the need to tell you about their weight unprovoked…

I’m 6 inches shorter than him and I’m 60 kilos. I’m feeling terrible for both of us 😐🥲

They were never fat to begin with.
My heart breaks every time they say they „need“ to lose weight.
WHICH WEIGHT?!?!?
Intelligent-Loan13 on
Whats with the comments…He is 30, a dancer, in the healthy weight and BMI range, and preparing for a tough and prolonged tour. He knows what he is doing. He hasn’t talked about unhealthy eating habits in a long time and encourages people to take care of their health and have healthy eating habits when fans bring up their own weight issues.

i hope (and i think) he posted this with no negative feelings behind it
guys, please remember that jimin is jimin, you are you and you can’t compare yourself to him, we can’t compare ourselves to anyone in general. regardless of what jimin does or posts, he is is own person and your looks and health don’t have absolute anything to do with him
