Last track on the Expergo album.

Where do you find the official audio videos? I couldn't find the one for My Gosh last week but someone else linked it. I tried all kinds of search terms this time and I couldn't find it either.

  1. This is another song like “Just Did It” that is fine, but I haven’t really been able to get into beyond “I guess that’s OK.”

The recording video did show their great vocals and I actually liked hearing that more than the song itself. The chorus is somewhat catchy I suppose. On that video several of the girls said they thought it would be a good song to close out concerts; have they ever done it live?

Not bad at all, but it doesn’t really stand out in the NMIXX world aside from Jiwoo’s energetic rap parts.

She’s my bias, so I’m, uh, biased, but I really think Jiwoo brought a whole lot to the Expergo era.

*Home* is a type of song that works so much better in a concert setting. I think it being the ending song for their MIXXLAB tour best exemplified that. *Home*, *Break the Wall*, *Moving On*, and *ADORE U* all fill a similar role in their discography.

  4. I would like to focus on the meaning of this song within the lore and its overall message.

Within the composition of the album “expérgo” (Latin for: to wake up), which consists of four chapters: *Senténtĭa* (here meaning wisdom), *Audentia* (courage), *Amor* (love), and *Et īris super* (beyond the rainbow), the song “HOME” serves as the final and concluding chapter. The lyrics of the earlier songs on this album dealt with NMIXX acquiring the titular traits, thanks to which they freed NSWER from the prison of MONOPOLE – the prison of that framework of thought that seeks to force every individual into a single mold. It is at this very moment of liberation that “HOME” begins with the words:

“The sirens announcing the end pause for a moment”

This, of course, refers to the alarm sirens signaling the end of the NSWER’s imprisonment; their stopping gives NMIXX a moment to reflect and call upon the freed NSWER to journey to MIXXTOPIA, a world where unity is achieved not through uniformity, but through an appreciation of each individual’s unique qualities. The entire song is a call to embark on a journey they know will be demanding:

“We need to ride even bigger new waves”
“There might not even be time to doze off”

But they are also convinced that it will be worth it because of the goal:

    “A bluer world calls us”
“We know it’ll be a wonderful journey”

At the same time, they emphasize that there is no single right way to achieve this goal:

    “Wherever our feet take us
    Anywhere now we go”
    “There’s no predetermined answer
    That’s how we do”

NMIXX and NSWER must leave behind their current, titular home, to which they no longer wish to return due to the pain they’ve experienced there, their boredom, and their sheer desire for a new adventure, a sentiment best captured by the chorus:

    “Don’t wanna go home
I want to face the big world
    Leap over the high wall
    Without hesitation, let’s go
    Nowhere we can’t go, go!”

It’s worth noting the reference to “the wall,” which later appears in the song “Break The Wall” in a more rebellious tone. For now, the tone of this song’s call to action is motivating and full of enthusiasm, as they set off with NSWER toward their dream world:

    “Crossing over that wall
Towards a new unfamiliar world, go!
    Speeding up
We won’t be able to stop”

And as we read in the official lore:

“The moment NMIXX and NSWER dock with each other, all the senses in the world awaken, and diverse colors and light explode.”

Hence the call to go beyond the rainbow in the chapter title, which in “COOL (Your rainbow)” symbolized that the girls learnt how to fully accept and realize their own emotions. The Haewon’s invitation from the album’s first song “Young, Dumb, Stupid” resonates particularly strongly here: “Come on in before it’s too late.”

And a few comments on the musical and visual aspects. The song’s message harmonizes with its upbeat musical arrangement and joyful, rhythmic group vocals. Even more with chill and cute choreography featuring “train” movement and swaying in place. Sullyoon’s quick hand movements, which emphasize the chorus lyrics, also add charm. Lily and Bae particularly shine in this song, accounting for a combined 46% of the total lyrics. Another interesting touch is that the “MIXX” that signals the change-up occurs exactly halfway through the song (1 minute 20 seconds). At the time, it was the perfect song for NMIXX to end their concerts with (as if they literally didn’t want to go home so they could stay with their fans).

Thanks  for reading. If I’ve made any mistakes regarding the lore or in my interpretation, please correct me.

  5. This song songs so well at the end of a live show.

But in that dance version, Lily just goes off in that last chorus. The high harmony over Kyu is *chef’s kiss*

    I’ve always really enjoyed Home.

It has a mid-late 00’s Pop Rock Anthem kind of vibe and the Harmonies during the Choruses sound Amazing.

My favorite section is probably the Bridge with BAE going into the Final Chorus and where Lily’s ‘Ayyy Yeah’ carries over into the Beginning of the Final Chorus with Haewon leading.

Then we get some Lily and Kyujin harmonies and Group Harmonies and then Kyujin takes things Home.

I also agree with everyone saying it’s perfect live during the Final Encore stage.

I haven’t done personal rankings of the Discography since BV released but before then I know I had Home in the Top half of my favorites.

Maybe it’s a slight bias for it being the first one but Home is one of my favourite tracks from the “concert ender” tracks that Nmixx has. I just think it’s funky/quirkiness completely encapsulates Nmixx and what they stand for instead of the seemingly simple non-Nmixxified enders like Break the wall, or Adore you. Specifically Break the Wall because I really don’t like how that song just develops into chanting 😭 it gives me too many highschool musical vibes I’m sorry. I also think the chorus is fun and catchy and those little aeroplane movements they do in the chorus are very memorable to me (maybe because of those voice crack clips from their first tour)

Idk I know it’s an unpopular opinion but in Expergo Just Did it, then Password then Home are my favourites bsides in order.
