Music Program “The Show” Revived After 7 Months… Production and Programming to Be Revamped
First broadcast set for the 2nd of next month… To air on SBS Life channel
>
>SEOUL, May 13 (Yonhap News) — Reporter Kim Sun-woo — The cable music program “The Show” will resume broadcasting seven months after its cancellation.
>
>According to the music industry on the 13th, “The Show” is preparing for its first broadcast on the 2nd of next month. It is also understood that meetings were recently held between the production team and entertainment agencies to organize the lineup for the first episode.
>
>“The Show” ended with its final broadcast last November. At the time, speculation arose that the program had been discontinued, but the show’s side only stated that “this year’s broadcasts are coming to an end.”
>
>Launched in 2011, “The Show” is one of the representative cable music programs that has continued for about 14 years.
>
>This resumption of broadcasting is being carried out in a form that keeps the program’s name while completely reorganizing its production and programming structure.
>
>The existing “The Show” aired on the SBS funE channel and had been produced by SBS Medianet. After SBS Medianet withdrew from the entertainment business last year, production of the program also came to an end.
>
>The newly launched “The Show” is scheduled to air on the SBS Life channel. Production will be handled jointly by SBS Life and the entertainment-tech startup BIGC. Kim Chil-sung, BIGC’s head of concert business and a former SBS Medianet official, will lead “The Show.”
>
>The show’s side said, “Beyond simply resuming the broadcast, we will be reborn as a global music show and present a new media environment.”
