still really successful, but honestly really surprised it’s not at least close to BV. maybe world economic issues have caused sales to trend downward?

I’d be lying if I had said I expected the first week sales to land at this number prior to the release. But logically, I can understand why it turned out this way. SQU4D really limited the number of fansigns this comeback, which probably explains such a noticeable drop in sales.

I guess releasing an album a few month after a (very expensive) world tour was kind of optimistic.

Yeah like others are pointing out, way fewer fansigns will do this, album release in the middle of world tour will do this.
Overall sales will be lower but I also have a feeling sales will continue to increase over the next few days-week. Just a hunch because shipping seems to be lagging a bit this time.

as an analyst by trade, evaluating just quantities as a success metric is deceiving without seeing other variables such as average cost of the album and comparing them to the costs of the other albums. There are other variables of course but that is just a start.
This was the first time I bought a kpop album and was rather surprised on how expensive they are considering only 6 songs. But maybe it is the norm in the industry now for the prices.

I wonder how well did it do internationally (unless it’s already included due to Circle Chart numbers). I don’t know if it’s successful or not since you’d have to consider the amount of original prints and the total cost of the album. To my ignorant eyes, this doesn’t look bad number wise.

Are they losing fans? 🥲

I think after a bunch of big groups have releases this year we’ll see a general trend of lower sales.

Where can you find total sales for each album after the 1st week
And also international sales

I think we need to take in consideration that a ton of groups are releasing albums this month as well. And it hasn’t been much time since BTS’s album, which regardless if you like it or not was huge. Unfortunately people can’t buy all the albums and support all the groups they like when it’s this crowded.

Combine the factors of Global Economic problems, not as many fansigns, a lot of us saving up for fanclub membership (SQU4D WHEN?? PLEASE.), and just coming off a world tour with expensive tickets, and this is pretty easily explained.
Luckily, physical sales aren’t too important to success of a comeback. Everything is weighted towards digital sales/streaming now.

Preordered two copies on FANS, hopefully received them later this week.

think JYP is leaning hard into digital marketing than fansigns/physical album sales. The amount of shorts and other original NMIXX content on this comeback is almost overwhelming.
