  1. This is one of my favorite NMIXX songs. It just seems so unique in the catalogue with the country-inspired violin. I got into NMIXX through the Tiny Desk concert and this was the song I liked the most out of the ones they sang on that.

It also must be one of the most challenging songs to sing in their catalog — in the recording video most of them talk about how difficult it is afterwards. Bae and Sullyoon have to sing very low in their range, there are a lot of tricky leaps and head/chest voice switches, and Lily has that really treacherous run to sing as well as the difficult ad-libs. It’s really hard to sing the chorus without being flat on the “cause we are not alone” part.

But their performance of it on TD was great, and the version on the 360 sound bomb is good as well with all the variations.

The choreo also looks pretty hard!

Love this song! It’s so exhilarating–it makes me feel like I truly am running with someone towards something grand, our hearts pounding with excitement. The whole track is great, but the parts of it I most often think of are Lily’s “our hearts go da-da-dum” and the “da di da di dum” bits.

  3. TragedyLooper on

As someone who loves deeper tones, whether actually lower notes or more chest voice belting high notes, I’ve always loved the verse and chorus of this song, along its at time jazzy, at times rocking instrumentation and vibe.

It took me a while to get used to the mini change up with the rapping development section, but now the contrast makes the ending, where it switches back to a variation of the chorus and layers of all the ad libs hit harder.

This was the *the* song that cemented NMIXX as my favourite Kpop group, and set them on the trajectory of being my one of my favourite musical acts of all time. It was this song that made me go back and listen to all tracks they’d released, including b-sides.
There are so many things I love about it, but the one specific moment that stands out is Haeon’s adlib right at the end, during the final “da di dum” section. The “we are not alone” followed by her “Ah Oooooh” just…lifts my feet off the ground every time.

An energetic, hype inducing, yet still beautiful song.

  5. One of my favorite songs of theirs. The performance of it on Tiny Desk really converted me from an occasional listener to a fan.
