Following her departure from Cube Entertainment, CLC Kwon Eunbin will retire from the entertainment industry and has requested to remove her public profiles in order to live privately
>With the exclusive contract ended, Kwon Eunbin appears likely to leave the entertainment industry and live as a private citizen. She recently requested that the open encyclopedia Namu Wiki delete content related to her.
Kwon Eunbin said of the deletion request, “Currently I have effectively suspended my activities in the entertainment industry, and I have also taken down all public profiles such as my Naver profile. From now on I plan to return to the life of a private citizen and live quietly,” adding, “However, the Namu Wiki article remains public, and exposure of my private life and the burden continue. I respectfully request deletion of the article according to my wishes.”

Can anyone familiar with South Korean internet culture speak to whether this is a request that is likely to be respected? If the same request was made in the English speaking world, it is likely to be laughed at and ignored. I assume that she made this request, it means it will be respected, which seems quite sweet, which surprises me as knetizens can seem ruthless at times. Maybe it is something influenced by entertainment law specifically?
edit: I visited the namu wiki page and it specifically uses the phrase “at the request of the rights holder” so I guess it must be based on law rather than culture. It’s a shame Wikipedia won’t respect the same request.

Every time i see her name im reminded how Cube nuked her popularity from Produce 101 so she could debut in CLC. I hope her request is granted and she enjoys a good comfortable life!
